What is Fiscal Sponsorship?

Fiscal Sponsorship is a contractual relationship that allows a person or organization that is not tax-exempt to advance charitable or otherwise exempt activities with the benefit of the tax-exempt status of a sponsor organization that is exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3). When done correctly, fiscal sponsorship can be a great tool for fulfilling a client’s charitable goals without necessarily requiring the formation a new nonprofit entity, application for tax-exempt status, or compliance with ongoing filing and registration requirements.

What Type/Model of Fiscal Sponsorship does VEDUFFE provide?

Model A (Direct/Comprehensive Fiscal Sponsorship) in which the Sponsored Project (Non-Tax Exempt Entity) becomes a Program of the Fiscal Sponsor (VEDUFFE). VEDUFFE takes on full legal and fiduciary donation responsibility of the donations on behalf of the Donors/Supporters.

What are the Benefits for Non-Tax Exempt Entities to obtain Fiscal Sponsorship?

For starters, a Sponsored Project receives donations as a 501c3 via VEDUFFE in which the donations are legally and fiduciary protected to be specifically only for the Sponsored Project and no other use as per the intent by the Donors/Supporters. As such, the Donors/Supporters receive Tax-Deductible Donation Documentation from VEDUFFE, which the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) recognizes as a charity donation, thus becoming a deductible contribution that you can often use from your taxable income and in turn, lower your overall tax bill.

While becoming a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization is not necessary, nor strategically good for every

Non-Profit Venture, if you later on you do become a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization, at which point our

Fiscal Sponsorship services will no longer be necessary. We can assist in getting you a 100% Free Fundraising Platform via Zeffy, as well as continue to receive all of the above resources at only a

$10 Per Monthly Donation directly to Zeffy via our Zeffy Members Bundle

as well as the 1% Administrative Fee for Funds will no longer apply.
